youre never gonna guess what are ya? liverpool won the champions league! but aside from that....my flight has been delayed and theyve stuck me in a 5 star hotel named Meridien along the beach of copacabana! crazy! i have a queen sized bed and eat as much as you want posh nosh. ive just been taking crazy photos with my phone...has to be done innit!
im sorry i havent been updating my blog very well.....carnival has been MANIC, its like ive partied for 96 hours! (but i havent). i caught up with friends rachel and charlotte, alan & kabula, beverly, stu and woody during carnival, so ive been up and down rio like a yo-yo, trying to cram in as much as possible. santa teresa where i have been staying is a nice place to enjoy the raw atmostphere of carnival, where people are singing and dancing on the streets gettting absolutely sh!tfaced. stu and woody made it down to witness the fitness.
sambrodromo was where the main parade occured, we were in sector 6, so the view was rather crap, but the crowd (well rachel and i) went pretty crazy and danced loads before leaving to a beach party after eating a few of bobs burgers (dont eat bobs burgers, they horrid)
Lapa is full of clubs and bars and id say that it was the highlight of my carnival meeting some proper brazilians with a human puccussion instrument named alby. walked home around sunrise. up the steps that appeared in the beautiful video with snoop and pharell.
went to botofogo club "casa da matriz" with jack, aaron, simon, michael and i forget the name, but the club was awesome. if you like fabric, youd love this club if you make it to brasil. drum and bass room, arcade room, tv room, shop with itunes blaring and loads more.
i topped my holiday off with a visit to ilha grande. people normally go there to relax after carnival. so with some lads from england and a rather camp bloke from las angeles, we snorkled one day and went to the magnificent Lopez Mendez. Now Gav, when i say this i mean it, IT's BETTER THAN KOH PHI PHI! Where the beach was filmed. the sand was like walking on white flour, the water is transparent and blue forever. the trek would have been worth it but we took a boat. you must visit lopez mendez. proper bo i tell thee.
ive bought 10 pairs of havaianas but i fear they are the wrong sizes. might buy like 5 more just to make sure. i think american 7/8 is Uk 6-7...
i might have a lush bath in my quality 5* room. but its quite sad that i have to leave brazil. i was just getting into gear, i know another week here would have done me the world of good. seen a few sites, reality bites.
anyway, i hope you lot are well! c ya soon!
